National NGV Fleet Summit

ABOUT

THANK YOU LOUISVILLE!

Breaking new ground in the quest to inform America's fleets about the benefits of natural gas, the National Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Fleet Summit assembled a powerhouse of OEM executives, gas suppliers, industry analysts, and America's top fleet managers for a one-day conference just prior to the opening of the 39th annual Mid-America Trucking Show. The event was attended by over 200 individuals and provided detailed information about the opportunities and advantages of using liquefied natural gas (LNG) or compressed natural gas (CNG) as fuel in over-the-road trucking. The event's goal was to provide fleet managers with expertise from fleets who have been using NGVs for years, as well as to connect them with station developers, vehicle manufacturers, and key funding experts able to assist them with launching their own development and deployment projects.

If you weren't able to attend this year's event, here's what took place:

  1. Play PickensPlan AdT. Boone Pickens shared the latest on the PICKENS PLAN, the NAT GAS Act, and the plan to put 400,000 natural gas trucks on the road in the United States. To view T. Boone Pickens' latest national TV ad, click HERE.
  2. Cal Cartage, UPS, and Trimac Transportation discussed their successes, experiences, and the pros and cons of running hundreds of natural gas trucks in their operations.
  3. The latest natural gas truck products from Freightliner and Kenworth were on display and OEM executives explained why they believe natural gas will have an increased role in the future transportation sector in the U.S. and around the world.
  4. The NAT GAS Act was reviewed—legislation that can reduce fuel costs by 30% to 50% compared to diesel for the next 10 to 15 years.
  5. Natural gas supply and pricing factors were reviewed by EnCana, one of North America’s largest gas companies.
  6. Learn how natural gas trucks reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% to 30% compared to the latest diesels.
  7. Attendees learned how natural gas trucks reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% to 30% compared to the latest diesels, where the fuel stations are being built, and how best to develop a fueling site.

The National NGV Fleet Summit brought it all together…networking, receptions, expert presentations, a Ride & Drive, and the many reasons why natural gas is a real option for over the road trucking.
